Infant Department

Our approach in Kindergarten and Reception is a developmental one that fosters cognitive, creative, social, emotional and physical growth in young children. We encourage children to experience the joys of learning and discovery as well as the spontaneous delights of childhood in a secure environment. We believe that early development of basic skills provides a sound foundation for future learning capabilities.

In Year 1 and 2 the children start to build on the skills, understanding and knowledge that they have acquired in Reception and KG. They continue to develop independence in both thinking and personal organisation. By the end of Year 2 the basic skills acquired in the Infant Department are consolidated and built upon in preparation for the transition into the Juniors (Key Stage 2).

As is the case with many good schools we have various events throughout the year that the parents may be involved in. These include Class Assemblies, Sports Day, The annual Primary Concert, Maths Week, Book Fairs, and a Book Week, Science Week and a range of Celebrations relating to National or International themes.
